
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Bellevue University women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss as Grand View University scored in the final minute to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Bruins in non-conference action Sunday afternoon.
Sydney Gutschenritter scored on a pass from Taylor Hoffman from 18 yards out with just 32 seconds remaining in regulation for the only score of the game.
Bellevue fell to 2-3 on the season with the loss. GVU improved to 4-2 overall.
BU outshot the Vikings 11-9 and held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Goal keeper Laurence Rodier collected five saves while giving up the one goal to fall to 2-3 on the season.
The Bruins host Concordia (Neb.) University at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Bellevue Soccer Club.
