FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Senior Betsy Fischenich had a hand in all three goals to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Waldorf College on Friday afternoon in a North Star Athletic Association match.

Bellevue dominated play in the first half, owning a 12-2 advantage in shots (4-0 on goal) but they couldn't grab a goal until late in the half where they took a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Senior Betsy Fischenich put the Bruins on the board first with a 37th minute goal, her 10th of the season. Freshman Jordyn Seidel was credited with the assist.

Waldorf wasted no time coming out of the gate in the second half, pulling level in the 50th minute with a goal from Brittney Thornton. Deborah Divyimana got the assist on the goal.

The tie score would only last until the 63rd minute when the Seidel-Fischenich combination struck again. This time, however, the roles were reversed with Seidel scoring off a pass from Fischenich to reestablish a Bruin lead.

Bellevue effectively sealed the game in the 82nd minute with Fischenich's second goal of the match from sophomore Madison Lambert. The strike put the Bruins up 3-1 with just over eight minutes to play, a margin which proved to be too much for the home-standing Warriors to overcome.

Bellevue out-shot the Warriors 32-3 for the match, including holding a 13-1 advantage in shots on goal. The visiting Bruins also held a massive 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Bellevue was whistled for nine fouls on the afternoon while the officials called 12 against Waldorf.

After a slow start to the season, Bellevue closed the regular season by going 11-1-0, out-scoring their opposition by a staggering 41-7 margin.

The Bruins (11-3-0/3-1-0 NSAA) are off until Friday, Nov. 6 when they travel to Jamestown, N.D. for the North Star Athletic Association Tournament. Game times, seeds, and match-ups will be announced at a later date.
