BU women roll to 4-0 shutout win at Doane

CRETE, Neb. -- Junior Betsy Fischenich registered a goal and an assist and freshmen goalkeepers Bailey Petzoldt and Laurence Rodier combined for a shutout as the Bellevue women's soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win at Doane College Wednesday night at Simon Field

The Bruins (3-0) remained undefeated with the win and will host William Penn University at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Tranquility Park. Doane fell to 1-2 on the season. 

Bellevue held a commanding 22-10 advantage in shots and a 10-2 margin in shots on goal while gaining its third-straight win over a Great Plains Athletic Conference school. 

Senior Yaritza Estrada scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute. It marked the first goal for her this season and the 11th of her career.

Fischenich made it 2-0 after finding the back of the net off a pass from Madison Lambert at 26:21, giving the Bruins a two-goal margin heading into halftime.

Lauren Clark scored the Bruins' third goal just after the break, off a rebound pass from Fischenich. 

Kate Petersen scored the game's final goal on a penalty kick at 51:09 to give the Bruins the 4-0 victory. 

Fischenich now leads the 2014 Bruins with three goals, three assists and nine total points. 

Petzoldt and Rodier each had a save in the shutout.
