
OMAHA, Neb. -- Led by Betsy Fischenich's hat trick, the Bellevue University women's soccer team posted a 3-0 nonconference win against Bethany (Kan.) College Saturday night at Tranquility Park.
With the win, Bellevue improved to 3-5-3 overall while Bethany dropped to 2-5-0.
The Bruins struck first on Fischenich's first goal of the contest in the 20th minute of action off a cross into the box by Jenica Bloom.
Fischenich added a pair of second half goals in the 59th minute and 63rd minute to lift BU to the 3-0 win.
Caitlin Stier played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bruins and registered seven saves. Jessica Shepherd stopped four shots for BC.
BU outshot the Swedes, 18-14.
Fischenich led the Bruins with eight shots in the game.
The Bruins will open conference play on Saturday, Oct. 5 with a 1:00 p.m. match against Central Baptist College at Tranquility Park.
