BELLEVUE, Neb. --- The top-seeded Bellevue University women's soccer team got goals from Morgan Anderson and Paige Wischmann as the Bruins claimed the MCAC Tournament title with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon at Kasper Soccer Field.
The 25th-ranked Bruins improved to 14-1-3 on the season with the win. Oklahoma Wesleyan fell to 13-5-1 overall.
With the tournament title, Belevue earned an automic bid to the NAIA National Championship. Pairings and sites for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Anderson scored on a penalty kick with 3:30 left in the opening period for the game's first score.
Wischmann scored her first goal of the season in the 48th minutes on a shot from 30 yards out over the Eagles' goalkeeper Savannah Longoria to make it 2-0.
The Eagles cut the lead in half with a goal by Amber Brown-Longoria at 74:58 off a cross in front of the net from Libby Storie.
The Bruins held a 20-4 advantage in shots and a 10-1 margin in shots on goal.
Caitlin Stier earned the win, improving to 13-1-3 on the year.
Longoria recorded seven saves in the loss.
