
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Behind a consistent performance from the four scoring golfers, the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in third place at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate, hosted by Iowa Western Community College at the 5,861-yard, par-72 Bent Tree Golf Club.
Bellevue's team score of 31-over (319) on Tuesday saw them finish 64-over (640) for the tournament. Team champion Iowa Western and runners-up Doane University finished at 58-over (634) and 63-over (639), respectively.
Iowa Western's Olivia Holyoak-Church won the individual title with a two-day total of 146 (+2). She fired a second-round best 3-over 75 on Tuesday to secure the six-stroke victory over Bellevue's Maria Pinedo.
Pinedo fired a 7-over 79 in Tuesday's second round, highlighted by her birdie on the 517-yard, par 5 No. 12 and 11 pars. Her second round gave her a 36-hole total over 152 (+8).
Ilysia Ibnu posted the Bruins' best round of the day, carding a 6-over 78. Birdies on No. 14 (400-yard, par 4) and No. 17 (327-yard, par 4) buoyed her to a 1-under back nine. She finished the tournament with a score of 156 (+12), good for sixth place.
Chloe Blandinieres shot 9-over 81 on the day. She finished in 18th place with a 36-hole score of 170 (+26). She recorded a birdie on the 143-yard, par 3 No. 5.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac posted a 9-over 81 second round for a final score of 165 (+21), good for 14th place. She made birdies on both No. 14 and the 280-yard, par 4 No. 16 as she shot a strong 2-over on the back nine.
Megan Harty turned in a 15-over 87 final round giving her a score of 29-over (173) for the tournament. She parred six holes on the day and finished in 24th place.
The postseason is next on Bellevue's schedule, as the Bruins will host the final two rounds of the NSAA Championship on Monday-Tuesday, Apr. 28-29 at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Eagle, Neb. with tee times slated for 9 a.m. each day. The Bruins hold a 24-stroke lead through two rounds, played at Crossroads Golf Course in Carrington, N.D. during the fall.
