
SILVIS, Ill. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team finds itself in second place after darkness cut short Monday's first round of the TPC Deere Run Invitational.
All nine teams made it through the first round of play and at least half the second round at the TPC Deere Run Invitational which is being played at the 5,842-yard, par-72 TPC Deere Run.
Indiana Wesleyan leads Bellevue by 27 strokes after Monday's action. The Wildcats are 70-over while the Bruins are 97-over on the very challenging course that serves as the host venue of the John Deere Classic. Lincoln University is two stroked back of Bellevue in third at 99-over.
Chloe Blandinieres was Bellevue's top golfer on the day, shooting 22-over through 34 holes. She posted a 10-over first round and was 12-over through 16 holes before play was suspended for the day.
Pinedo and Blandinieres each recorded a pair of birdies to lead the way for BU and Ibnu added a birdie as well.
Ilysia Ibnu is in 12th place at 24-over through 32 holes with Maria Pinedo one stroke back in 13th at 25-over through 32 holes.
Tilde-Li Andersson and Aaricia Noel-Traissac shot 29-over through 33 and 32 holes, respectively, as the duo are tied in 17th place.
Indiana Wesleyan's Caroline Gibson leads the field at 10-over, one of the few golfers to finish two complete rounds. She is six strokes ahead of teammate Kylee Purdy on the overall leaderboard.
Play is scheduled to resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. with teams wrapping up second round play before teeing off the final round of the fall season.
