
BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Senior Maria Pinedo shot the Bruins' best score of the second round, guiding the Bellevue University women's golf team into a tie for seventh place at the 12-team Swan Memorial, which was held at the par-72 Broadlands Golf Course and hosted by Colorado Christian University.
Bellevue was the lone NAIA team competing in the tournament, along with 10 NCAA Division II schools and a junior college.
Pinedo fired a 2-over 74 on the day, finishing the 36-hole tournament at 5-over par following Monday's 3-over 75. She finished in a tie for 13th place overall. Pinedo had two birdies on the day while registering identical scores of 1-over 37 on both the front and back nine.
Ilysia Ibnu finished the tournament in a tie for 28th place after recording a 9-over par 81 on Tuesday, coupled with Monday's 2-over 74. She parred 10 holes in the second round.
Chloe Blandinieres turned in BU's second-best round of the day with a 5-over 77, putting her at 13-over for the tournament and in a tie for 36th place. Her round was highlighted by three birdies and eight pars.
Tilde-Li Andersson tied for 58th place at 23-over par after shooting rounds of 86 and 81. She fired a two-over 38 on the front nine, where she ended with a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bruins was Megan Harty, who carded rounds of 90 and 91. Harty had three pars on the day.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac, who competed as an individual, finished in a tie for 38th place at 14-over par with rounds of 78 and 80. Her second round was sparked by one birdie and 10 pars.
The Bruins will travel to Rapid City, S.D. next Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 16-17, to compete in the Hardrocker Invitational being played at the Golf Club of Red Rock.
