
BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Ilysia Ibnu and Maria Pinedo were the top two Bruin golfers on Monday as the Bellevue University women's golf team competed in the first round of the Swan Memorial.
The Swan Memorial is being held at the Broadlands Golf Course and hosted by Colorado Christian University.
Bellevue is the lone NAIA team competing at the event along with 10 NCAA Division II schools and a junior college.
At 27-over (315), Bellevue is seventh among the 12 teams competing. Colorado State-Pueblo and Cal State Los Angeles share the team lead at 7-over while Angelo State (+12) holds a one-stroke lead over Colorado Mesa for third place.
Ibnu is tied for 10th place after a first round 2-over 74. She posted birdies on No. 5 and No. 15 and totaled 12 pars on her way to matching 37s on the front and back.
Pinedo finds herself tied for 13th place with a 3-over 75 featuring 13 pars on the afternoon. She shot a 1-over 37 on the front, highlighted by a birdie on No. 3 and a 2-over on the back.
Chloe Blandinieres birdied No. 5 and No. 11 as she carded an 8-over 80 first round with nine pars.
Tilde-Li Andersson is for 60th at 14-over following a first round 86 that saw her par eight holes. Megan Harty finds herself tied for 65th overall with a first round 90, including shooting five pars.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac, golfing as an individual, is tied for 29th overall. She parred 10 holes and notched a birdie on No. 15 on her way to a 6-over 78.
CSU Pueblo's Alyssa McMillen and Fort Lewis' Viviana Holguin share the individual lead, in the 68-golfer field, at 2-under after their first round 70. Colorado Christian's Makenna Brown (IND) is a stroke back after a 1-under 71.
Second round play in the Swan Memorial Golf Tournament kicks off at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning from Broadlands Golf Course.
