LINCOLN, Neb. -- Due to rain and thunderstorms in the Lincoln area, the second round of the 11-team Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite could not be completed. Monday's first-round results will be the final results of the tournament, with the Bruins earning the team title by 22 strokes over second-place Dakota Wesleyan University.
Bellevue posted a team score of 39-over par 323 in Monday's first round. Dakota Wesleyan finished at 61-over par. College of St. Mary and Concordia tied for third place at 63-over.
Maria Pinedo was the individual champion in the 59-player field at 4-over par. Aaricia Noel-Traissac and Ilysia Ibnu were in a seven-way tie for second place at 10-over par after the opening round.
Chloe Blandinieres tied for 13th place at 15-over par, and Megan Harty rounded out the scoring at 19-over par.
The Bruins will compete in the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Classic next Monday-Tuesday, April 22-23, at Bent Tree Golf Course in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
