BISMARCK, N.D. -- For the fifth time this season and the seventh time in her BU career, junior Maria Pinedo has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' two tournaments over the last week.

Pinedo led the Bruins to the team title at the Battle at the Dance played on Mar. 19-20 in Windsor, Colo. She shot an even-par 72 in the second round and was the top NAIA golfer in the 36-player event, finishing the tournament at 9-over par. Her consistent second round was made up of two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars, putting her alone in fourth place.

In the Kyle Blaser Invitational in Oklahoma City, Pinedo recorded rounds of 7-over 79 and 8-over 80 to put her in a tie for 12th place in the 50-player field. Pinedo's opening round consisted of 11 pars and seven bogeys. She had one birdie and 10 pars in the second round as BU finished fourth in the seven-team field.

The Bruins return to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 15-16, when they travel across the river to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to compete in the Bent Tree Intercollegiate at Bent Tree Golf Club. The tournament will be hosted by Iowa Western Community College.
