Pinedo guides BU to fourth-place showing at Kyle Blaser Invite

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Junior Maria Pinedo posted the top Bruin rounds on the day as the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in fourth place at the seven-team Kyle Blaser Invitational being played at the 5,955-yard, par-72 Greens Country Club. The one-day tournament consisted of 36 holes. 

The Bruins finished with a team score of 671 with rounds of 336 and 335. Host school Oklahoma City University won the team title with a 615 (314-301) total. Texas Wesleyan University finished five strokes back at 620.  

Pinedo recorded rounds of 7-over 79 and 8-over 80, to put her in a tie for 12th place in the 50-player field. Pinedo's opening round consisted of 11 pars and seven bogeys. She had one birdie and 10 pars in the second round. 

Ilysia Ibnu finished in 17th place with rounds of 80 and 83. She had six birdies on the day and posted a 2-over 38 on the back nine of the second round. 

Aaricia Noel-Traissac placed 28th after registering rounds of 89 and 85. She collected two birdies on the day. 

Megan Harty had seven pars in the opening round and eight in the second round, finishing in 29th place with scores of 88 and 87.  

Rounding out BU's scoring on the day was Chloe Blandinieres, who finished in 41st place with rounds of 89 and 101. 

Oklahoma City's Maddi Kamas won the individual title, finishing the tournament at 4-over par with rounds of 75 and 73.  

The Bruins return to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 15-16, when they travel across the river to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to compete in the Bent Tree Intercollegiate at Bent Tree Golf Club. The tournament will be hosted by Iowa Western Community College.
