
LUBBOCK, Tex. -- Led by Maria Pinedo, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in fifth place at the nine-team Top of Texas Invitational being played at the par-72, 6,119-yard Lakeridge Country Club.
The Bruins shot a team score of 64-over par, 352. Texas Wesleyan leads the field at 29-over par, with Angelo State eight strokes back at 37-over par.
Pinedo shot an 8-over par 80 and is currently tied for second place in the 54-player field. Her round was highlighted by a birdie and nine pars.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac and Megan Harty both fired 18-over-par scores of 90 and are tied for 28th place. Noel-Traissac had a birdie and four pars, while Harty produced seven pars on the day.
Chloe Blandinieres carded a 20-over 92 and is tied for 36th place. Her round was sparked by a birdie and six pars.
Ilysia Ibnu rounded out the Bruins' scoring on the day with a 24-over par 96, putting her in a tie for 44th place.
Tuesday's final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
