BU finishes in 21st place, Saifoloi makes cut

SILVIS, Ill. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team missed the cut after two rounds of play at the 2023 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship being played at par-71, 5,813-yard TPC at Deere Run. Senior Tylah Saifoloi, however, will advance to Thursday and Friday's third and fourth rounds of play after finishing in the top 40 individually. 

The top 17 teams and the top 40 individuals made the cut, advancing to the third and fourth rounds. Bellevue finished in 21st place after shooting a team total of 54-over par 338. Combined with Tuesday's 34-over 318, the Bruins finished the tournament at 88-over par (318-338 -- 656).  

Keiser University overtook British Columbia for the team lead after shooting a 23-over sum of 307. The Seahawks are 36-over par for the tournament. 

British Columbia is one stroke back in second place at 37-over par (293-312 -- 605)

Dalton State's Sydney Hermann and The Master's Hannah Ulibarri are tied for the individual lead at 3-over par in the 155-player field.  

Saifoloi matched her opening round score of 5-over 76, putting her at 10-over for the tournament and in a tie for 13th place, just seven strokes off the lead. She had one birdie and 11 pars in her second round. 

Freshman Aaricia Noel-Traissac carded a 15-over 86 and finished the tournament at 27-over par and in a tie for 109th place. She had six pars on the day. 

Sophomore Megan Harty shot a 16-over 87, matching her first-round total, finishing at 32-over and in a tie for 125th place. Harty had five pars in the second round. 

Sophomore Ilysia Ibnu recorded an 18-over 89, putting her at 29-over for 36 holes and in a tie for 115th place. She had one birdie and four pars in the second round. 

Rounding out the day was Maria Pinedo who shot a 21-over 92. She tied with Noel-Traissac at 27-over par for the tournament and in a tie for 109th place. 

Saifoloi will tee off at 8:30 a.m. in Thursday's third round.
