COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Individual leader Tylah Saifoloi is at 5-under and has the Bellevue University women's golf team holds a two-stroke lead over tournament host Iowa Western Community College through one round of play at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate.
Bellevue shot 325 as a team at the 5,805-yard, Par 72 and head into tomorrow's final round at 37-over par. Iowa Western carded a 328 round, good for 40-over. Briar Cliff (+51), College of St. Mary (+66), Concordia (+98), and Hastings (+119) round out the field.
Saifoloi (+5) carded a 77 and is a stroke ahead of Briar Cliff's Helene Getz Bergmo and Iowa Western's Madi Schlaepfer.
Maria Pinedo turned in an 8-over first round to find herself in fifth place while I.Y. Ibnu shot 11-over and is eighth overall.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac is in 10th at 13-over while Megan Harty completes the Bellevue contingent at 23-over in a tie for 23rd place.
Bellevue will try to maintain their hold on first in second round play tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m.
