NORFOLK, Neb. -- Megan Harty shot 9-over on Friday afternoon to find herself in a tie for fourth place at the 2022 Nebraska Intercollegiate.
Harty's first round 81 was the best among three Bruin golfers on the day. Close on Harty's heels are both Maria Pinedo and Tylah Saifoloi. Pinedo is alone in fifth place after carding a first round 82, good for 10-over, and Saifolio is tied for sixth with an 11-over 83.
A trio of Wayne State golfers hold the top three spots with Abbey Kurmel the overall leader at 5-over (77). Abby Broderson is a stroke behind in second place at 6-over and Jazmine Taylor finds herself tied for third with Harty at 9-over.
Wayne State leads the team standings with a 35-over score of 323. Nebraska-Kearney is second at 65-over with Hastings checking at third at 74-over. Concordia (+80), College of St. Mary (+83), and Doane (+117) round out the field.
Second round play tomorrow tees off at 10 a.m.
