
LE MARS, Iowa -- Sophomore Maria Pinedo led the Bellevue University women's golf team on Monday as the Bruins competed in the Northwest Iowa National Invite being played at the 5,924-yard, par-72 Willow Creek Golf Club. The teams completed two rounds on Monday, with one more round to go on Tuesday.
Pinedo fired identical rounds of 3-over par 75 to put her in 10th place in the 50-player field. Her morning round featured two birdies and 11 pars. Her afternoon round was highlighted by three birdies.
Tylah Saifoloi is tied for 23rd place after shooting rounds of 9-over 81 and 5-over 77 to put her at 14-over par for the tournament. She registered 22 pars and a birdie on the day.
Megan Harty fired rounds of 7-over 79 and 9-over 81, putting her in a tie for 29th place at 16-over par. Her rounds were sparked by three birdies and 16 pars.
Texas Wesleyan's Malisone Chanthapanya leads the field at 4-under par after recording rounds of 69 and 71.
The Bruins will complete play in the tournament with Tuesday's final round beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
