BU moves up one spot to 13th at Paiute Battle

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team improved its first-round score by 31 strokes as the Bruins moved up one spot, finishing in 13th place in the 17-team Paiute Battle being played at the 5,859-yard, par-72 Paiute Golf Club.

BU recorded a team total of 346, for a two-round total of 723 (377-346). The Bruins registered the ninth-best team score on the day. 

British Columbia edged Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) by two strokes for the team title. BC shot a two-round total of 651 (328-323). 

Ilysia Ibnu carded the best BU score on the day with a 12-over 84. She finished the tournament tied for 58th place in the 91-person field with a 36-hole total of 183 (99-84). Ibnu recorded one birdie and eight pars on the day. 

Megan Harty was the top BU finisher in the tournament after shooting a 14-over 86 to go with Monday's 91, putting her in a tie for 46th place. Harty collected seven pars in Tuesday's final round. 

Allison Temple registered a 15-over 87, finishing the tournament in 54th place with a two-round total of 180 (93-87). Temple's round was highlighted by parring eight holes. 

Tylah Saifoloi finished in a tie for 58th place after shooting a 17-over 89, five strokes better than Monday's total of 94. She had one birdie and four pars on the day. 

Maria Pinedo placed 77th with a second-round score of 96 to go with her first-round total of 102. Pinedov's round was highlighted by notching two birdies and two pars. 

Ottawa's Mikayla Sgrillo won the individual title at 13-over par with rounds of 81 and 75. 

The Bruins will travel to Silvis, Ill. to compete in the TPC Deere Run Invitational on Mar. 28-29.
