Bruins in 14th after opening day at Paiute Battle

Results

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in 14th place in the 17-team Paiute Battle being played at the 5,859-yard, par-72 Paiute Golf Club-Sun Mountain. 

The Bruins shot a team total of 377 (89-over par). British Columbia leads the field after firing an opening-round total of 30-over 328. Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) is one shot back at 329. 

Megan Harty shot the Bruins' top round on the day with a 19-over 91. She is tied for 53rd in the 90-player field. Harty recorded three pars on the day. 

Morningside's Laia Badosa leads the field after shooting a 6-over 78. 

Allison Temple carded a 21-over 93 and is tied for 59th place. Her round was highlighted by four pars. 

Tylah Saifoloi registered a 22-over 94, putting her in a tie for 64th place. She collected one birdie and three pars in her opening round. 

Ilysia Ibnu and Maria Pinedo rounded out the Bruins' scoring after shooting 99 and 102, respectively.  

Tuesday's final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
