
NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. -- Senior Allison Temple was the top Bruin golfer on Friday in the opening round of play in the season-opening Lila Frommelt Fall Classic being played at 5,987-yard, par 71 Two Rivers Golf Course.
Bellevue had three individuals competing in the tournament and did not field a team score.
Temple fired an 8-over par score of 79 and is tied for eighth place in the 69-player field. Temple's round was highlighted by one birdie and nine pars.
Morningside's Laia Badosa leads the tournament field at 1-under par (70).
Freshman Megan Harty is in 25th place at 15-over par after shooting an 86 in the first round. She had one birdie and six pars in the first round.
Junior Tylah Saifoloi is tied for 35th at 17-over par.
Morningside has a commanding 13-stroke lead in the team race after shooting a team score of 5-over par.
The final round of the tournament will begin on Saturday (Sept. 18) with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
