COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- In her first competition as a Bruin, Dominika Gradecka turned in an impressive performance and is currently in second place at the Iowa Western Intercollegiate Showcase being played at the 5,805-yard, par-72 Bent Tree Golf Course.
Gradecka fired a 2-over 74 on the day which saw wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. She is one stroke off the lead of Morningside's Maria Nava.
Gradecka's round was highlighted by an eagle on the 447-yard par-5 fifth hole. She shot an even-par 36 on the front nine where she led off with a birdie on the 310-yard, par-4 first hole.
Morningside and Iowa Western CC are tied for first in the team standings at 33-over par.
Tuesday's final round will begin with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
