Temple leads BU to third place finish at Spring Break Classic

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- Junior Allison Temple led the Bellevue University women's golf team to a third-place finish at the BU Spring Break Classic being played at the par-71 Landa Park Golf Course. 

The Bruins, who improved their team score by 22 strokes over Sunday's opening round, shot a 36-hole team total of 662 (342-320). 

Texas Wesleyan shot the tournament's best round with a 9-over par 293, winning the tournament with a 617 (324-293) team total. Wayland Baptist finished in second in the five-team tournament with a 647 (334-313) total. 

Temple fired a 4-over par 75 to finish in seventh place overall at 16-over par (83-75). 

Tylah Saifoloi finished in eighth in the 23-player field with a two-round total of 17-over par (81-78). 

Mikayla King carded identical rounds of 83 to finish the tournament in 12th place. 

Autumn Fateley tied for 16th with rounds of 95 and 84 (179). 

Texas Wesleyan's Brooke Sullivan and Joely Henderson finished in a tie for first at 10-over par. Henderson won the tournament in a playoff hole. 

The Bruins will be idle until April 1-2, when they participate in the Bulldog Spring Classic at Lincoln's Highland Park Golf Course.
