COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Led by senior Madison Brooks, the Bellevue University women's golf team recorded the top three places and four of the top five spots en route to its first title of the 2019-20 season. BU took home the championship of the six-team Bent Tree Intercollegiate Classic being played at the 5,805-yard, par-72 Bent Tree Golf Club. 

Brooks was the individual medalist in the event after posting a 3-over par 75 on Tuesday to go with Monday's 10-over 82 for a 13-over total of 157. Tylah Saifoloi tied for the top round of the day with a 2-over 74, to give her a second-place finish at 17-over (161). Allison Temple finished third in the 29-player field at 18-over par after carding an 8-over 80 on the day for a 162 (82-80) total. 

Mikayla King shot a 6-over 78 to finish fifth overall with a 165 (87-78) total. Jirattiphon Phongthanachalitkun rounded out the scoring on the day with a 2-over 74 to tie teammate Saifoloi for the best round of the tournament. 

The Bruins ran away with the team title, finishing 37 strokes ahead of second-place Mount Mercy. BU registered a team score of 639 (338-301) with Tuesday's 13-over team score of 301. Mount Mercy finished with a 676 (352-324) team total. Iowa Western CC was third at 684 (359-325). 

The Bruins' 301 team total was the lowest for BU of the 2019-20 season. 

Bellevue will participate in the Creighton Classic on Oct. 7-8 at the Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha.
