Temple leads Bruins to 2nd place finish at BU Fall Invite

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Led by individual champion Allison Temple, the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in second place in the five-team, season-opening Bellevue University Fall Invitational being played at the 5,866-yard, par-72 Platteview Golf Club.

William Penn won the team title after shooting a team total of 328 on Tuesday, to go with Monday's total of 325 for a two-round total of 653. 

Bellevue was 18 shots back after firing a 338 team score for a 671 (333-338) 36-hole sum. 

Temple, a junior, won her second career title after shooting an 81 on Tuesday to go with Monday's 76 for a 13-over par total of 157. Temple finished with 10 pars and a birdie on the day. 

William Penn's Bailee Frayne and Julia Hippely finished second and third, respectively at 15-over and 16-over par. 

Senior Madison Brooks fired the Bruins' second-best round on the day with an 83 for a 164 (81-83) total, good for sixth place in the 27-player field

Freshman Mikayla King carded a 14-over 86 for a 36-hole total of 168 (82-86), which put her in a tie for eighth place. 

Rounding out the Bruins' scoring was sophomore Autumn Fateley, who improved her first-round score by six strokes, finishing with an 88 today to combine with Monday's total of 94, to put her in 21st place overall.  

The Bruins will compete next Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 16-17 at the Northwest Iowa Invitational in Le Mars, Iowa.
