OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team is currently tied for 26th place after the opening round of play at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship being played at the 6,050-yard, par-72 Lincoln Park Golf Club (West Course).
Oklahoma City University leads the field after firing a 1-under par team total of 287. The Stars' Melissa Eldredge shot a 5-under 67 and leads in the individual player leaderboard by three strokes over William Carey's Papatsara Niamungrueang.
Dalton State is six shots back at 5-over par (293) and British Columbia is seven shots off the pace at 6-over par (294).
The Bruins were paced by Madison Brooks who carded a 6-over 78 on the day. Brooks had an eagle on the par-5 451-yard fifth hole and is tied for 64th place in the 155-player field.
Allison Temple and Morgan Hazzard both finished the day at 10-over par with opening round scores of 82, which put them both in a tie for 107th place. Temple recorded a 2-over 38 on the back nine. Hazzard had a team-best three birdies on the day.
Kim Moore is in a tie for 125th place after a first-round score of 13-over 85.
Bri Stagge finished the first round with a 16-over 88.
The Bruins will tee off in Wednesday's second round at 8:14 a.m.
