
ANKENY, Iowa -- Morgan Hazzard fired rounds of 77 and 81 on Tuesday to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to a second-place showing against a pair of teams from William Penn University at the par-71, 6001-yard Otter Creek Golf Course.
William Penn finished with a 36-hole team score of 627 while BU finished at 651. William Penn's B team was a distant third at 681.
Hazzard's total of 158 was the third-best two-round total in the 15-player field. Kim Moore and Madison Brooks both finished at 162. Moore tied Hazzard for BU's best round of the day with a second-round score of 77. Brooks carded a second-round total of 7-over 78.
WPU's Brittany Evans was the top golfer on the day, finishing at 4-over par with rounds of 74 and 71. Elisa Warne finished just ahead of Hazzard with a 157 (80-77) total.
The Bruins return to action next Monday-Tuesday, April 8-9, when they head to Oklahoma City, Okla. to compete in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.
