Temple leads BU to fourth place at CUNE Spring Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Allison Temple carded a first round 78 to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to fourth place finish at the Concordia University Spring Invitational on Thursday.

The Tournament was being played at the 5,800-yard, par-72 Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.

Morningside (321, +33) claimed a four-stroke victory over second place Iowa Western (325, +37) in the team standings with Concordia, Bellevue, and Northwestern Rounding out the top five.

Temple (+6), along with teammate Kim Moore (80, +8), set the pace for the Bruins on Thursday as BU finished just two shots back of host Concordia for third place.

Lisa Lied, of Iowa Western, took home the individual title in the 62-golfer field after signing her name to a first round low 76 (+4). She finished a stroke ahead of Morningside's Maria Zorrilla (77, +5) and Maria Nava (77, +5) in addition to besting Temple by two strokes.

Madison Brooks and Bri Stagge tied for third among BU golfers with matching scores of 89 (+17) on the day. Morgan Hazzard (91, +19) rounded out the Bruin lineup.

Bellevue next travels to Ankeny, Iowa on Tuesday, Apr. 2 for a dual match against William Penn University.
