OMAHA, Neb. -- Led by Kim Moore and Faustina Peve, the Bellevue University women's golf team finished in seventh place the Creighton Classic being played at the par-73, 5,925-yard Oak Hills Country Club. The Bruins were the only non-NCAA Division I team in the eight-team field.
The Bruins improved on Monday's first round by eight strokes and ended the tournament with a two-round team score of 656 (332-324). Northern Iowa won the team title with a 602 (297-305) 36-hole total.
Moore and Peve both finished in a tie for 18th in the 47-player field at 14-over par. Moore shot the top BU round on the day with a 4-over par 77. Peve carded a 5-over 78 to go with Monday's 82.
Allison Temple and Madison Brooks finished in a tie for 36th with identical 22-over par 168 totals.
South Dakota's Katie Bartlett was the individual champion, finishing the tournament at 1-over par. UNI's Sydney Eaton was second at 2-over.
The Bruins will be idle until Oct. 15-16 when they travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the NAIA Fall Preview at the Lincoln Park - West Golf Course.
