Bruins in seventh after first day at Creighton Classic

OMAHA, Neb. -- Led by Madison Brooks and Faustina Peve, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in seventh place after the first round of play at the Creighton Classic played at the par-73, 5,952-yard Oak Hills Country Club. The Bruins were the only non-NCAA Division I team in the eight-team field. 

Northern Iowa shot a team score of 5-over  par 297 to lead the field. Drake is 12 shots back at 309. The Bruins recorded a team score of 40-over par 332. 

Brooks and Peve both shot 9-over par 82's on the day. The duo is tied for 26th place in the 47-player field. 

Right behind them is Kim Moore at 10-over par, putting her in a tie for 29th place. Rounding out the Bruins' scoring was Allison Temple, who fired a 12-over par 85 on the day. 

UNI's Hannah Bermel and Anne Gradoville currently lead the field at even par.  

Tuesday's final round will begin with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
