BU takes title at Ottawa Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Senior Kim Moore won the individual title as the Bellevue University women's golf team ran away with the team championship Wednesday in the six-team Ottawa University Fall Invitational being played at the 5,825-yard, par-72 Eagle Bend Golf Course. Bellevue had four of the top five place finishers in the tournament. 

The Bruins recorded a 36-hole team score of 635 (319-316) after bettering Monday's first round score by three strokes. Second-place Kansas Wesleyan was 54 strokes back with a 689 (341-348) two-round total. 

Moore was the individual medalist at 13-over par after carding a 78 in Wednesday's second round to go with her round of 79 in Tuesday's first round.  

Opening-round leader Faustina Peve finished in a tie for second at 14-over par with rounds of 77 and 81. 

Allison Temple and Madison Brooks both tied for fourth place at 16-over par. Brooks had the day's best round with a 6-over 77. 

Bri Stagge finished in 16th place in the 36-player field with a 181 (90-91) 36-hole total.  

The Bruins return to action on Sept. 24 when they host the BU Fall Invite at the Platteview Country Club.
