
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Four players posted rounds under 80 as the Bellevue University women's golf team took a seven-stroke lead after the opening round of the 11-team Concordia Bulldog Spring Invite being played at the par-72, 5,800-yard Highlands Golf Course.
The Bruins carded a team score of 20-over-par 308 on the day. Briar Cliff is currently in second after recording a team score of 27-over-par 315. Morningside is 10 strokes back at 30-over par (318).
Allison Temple and Madison Brooks each fired rounds of 4-over 76, which put both in a tie for fourth place in the 73-player field. It marked Temple's lowest round of the season.
Faustina Peve and Kim Moore are each tied for seventh place after both shot 6-over 78's on the day.
Shelby Schneider is tied for 14th place at 9-over par (81).
Briar Cliff's Taylor Minger leads the field at 1-over par.
The tournament will conclude on Friday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
