Consistent play helps BU to 5th-place finish at O City Spring Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Consistent overall play helped the Bellevue University women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the 13-team O City Spring Classic being played at the par-72, 5920-yard Lincoln Park Golf Course. Three players posted rounds of 5-over 77 on Tuesday.

Host Oklahoma City ran away with the team title, finishing with a 54-hole team total of 906 (306-302-298). Texas Wesleyan finished in second at 915 (313-300-302).

Tuesday's third round was the best round of the tournament for the Bruins, registering a team score of 312 for a three-round team total of 946 (320-314-312). 

Faustina Peve shot a 77 on the day and was the top Bruin finisher in the tournament at 13-over par (76-76-77 -- 229). She ended in a tie for 11th in the 72-player field. 

Kim Moore placed in a tie for 16th after also firing a 77 to finish at 17-over par (80-76-77 -- 233). Allison Temple's 77 put her in a tie for 33rd for the tournament, finishing at 26-over par (83-82-77 -- 242). 

Madison Brooks ended in a tie for 39th at 29-over par (81-80-84 -- 245). Morgan Hazzard rounded out BU's scoring on the day, registering a 9-over 81, finishing the tournament at 37-over par (83-89-81 -- 253), which put her in a tie for 48th place. 

Texas Wesleyan's Alex Schies was the individual champion, finishing the tournament at 1-under par (73-70-72 -- 215). 

The Bruins will travel to Lincoln, Neb. on April 19-20 to participate in the Concordia Bulldog Spring Classic.
