
COHUTTA, Ga. -- With one round in the books at the Dalton State Invitational the Bellevue University women's golf team is in 12th place overall at the 5,880-yard, Par-72 Nob North Golf Course
Bellevue shot 340 as a team in the opening round as they currently sit just eight strokes out of a top 10 position. They are currently 12th in the 16-team field.
Faustina Peve was the Bruins' top scorer on the day with her 9-over performance which has her tied for 28th overall in the77-golfer field.
Madison Brooks and Allison Temple are tied for 44th place overall after carding identical opening round scores of 84 (12-over).
Rounding out the BU lineup were Kim Moore (19-over, 91) and Bri Stagge (29-over 101) who sit in 67th and 74th place, respectively.
Dalton State leads the event as team scorers. They'll take a three-stroke lead into tomorrow's second, and final, round. Tia Teiniketo is the individual clubhouse leader after shooting and even-par, 72 in the tournament's opening round.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round, which is set to tee off in the morning. That will conclude the fall portion of the 2017-18 women's golf club.
