Bruins take 4th in S.M. Berning Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- All four scoring Bruins were within four strokes of each other as the Bellevue University women's golf team placed fourth in the eight-team Susie Maxwell Berning Classic played at the 6,010-yard, par-72 Lincoln Park Golf Course.

Bellevue recorded a team score of 324 on the day for a three-round total of 944 (315-305-324) at the event. Texas Wesleyan won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 887 to ease past McLennan CC (902) for the team title.

Faustina Peve was the Bruins' top individual finisher, placing in a tie for eighth, with a three-round score of 227 (76-72-79).

Coming in behind Peve were Madison Brooks (t-18th, 234), Kim Moore (t-20th, 237), and Bri Stagge (37th, 253) with scores of 80, 82, and 83. Morgan Hazzard (41st, 259) rounded out the BU lineup with a score of 89 on the day.

Texas Wesleyan's Alex Schies won the individual title, overcoming a two-stroke deficit in the final round for a 54-hole score of 213.

BU wraps up the fall portion of their schedule Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 23-24 at the Dalton State Invite in Dalton, Ga.
