
MEDORA, N.D. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team is in third place after the opening round of the North Star Athletic Association Championships being hosted by Dickinson State University at the 6,000-yard, par-72 Bully Pulpit Golf Course.
The Bruins shot an 18-hole team total of 350 and trail first-place University of Jamestown by 13 strokes. Viterbo University is two strokes out of first place with a first-round team score of 339.
Faustina Peve is currently in fourth place after shooting a 12-over 84 on Monday. Kim Moore is tied for seventh with a 15-over 87. Morgan Hazzard fired a 17-over 89 and is tied for 10th place. Madison Brooks carded an 18-over 90 and is tied for 12th. Allison Temple shot a 94 in the opening round and is currently in 18th place.
Jamestown's Annie Nelson leads the tournament field after shooting a 1-under 71 on Monday.
Tomorrow's second round will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
