
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Sophomore Faustina Peve shot a second round score of 6-over-par 78 and finished in a tie for fourth place to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II-dominated Golden Bear Classic Monday at the Edinburgh Golf Course.
The Bruins bettered their opening-round score by 16 strokes, finishing with a two-round team total of 666 (341-325). Augustana (S.D.) won the team title with a 617 (310-307) team total. Central Missouri was second at 658 (328-330) and the University of Sioux Falls placed third with a 663 (336-327) team total.
Peve, who earned all-tournament team honors, finished the tournament at 13-over par with a two-round total of 157 (79-78). Madison Brooks placed 16th in the 77-player field with a 36-hole total of 166 (82-84). Morgan Hazzard tied for 20th with a 169 (85-84) total. Kim Moore shot 16 strokes better in Monday's second round, finishing in a tie for 34th place with a 174 (95-79) total.
Augustana's Alex Stone won the individual title with an 8-over score of 152 (79-73).
The Bruins will travel to Dickinson, N.D. on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 25-26 to compete in the North Star Athletic Association Fall Tournament.
