
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Paced by Faustina Peve, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in sixth place after the first round of the Golden Bear Classic, being hosted by NCAA Division II Concordia-St. Paul at the Edinburgh Golf Course.
The Bruins, who are the only NAIA squad in the 13-team field, shot a team score of 341 on Sunday. Augustana (S.D.) leads the tournament with a 22-over-par team score of 310. Bellevue is just 13 strokes out of second place with Central Missouri carding a 328 team score on the day.
Peve is currently tied for fourth place in the 77-player field with a 7-over 79 on Sunday. Madison Brooks fired a 10-over 82 and is tied for 11th. Morgan Hazzard is 13-over par and is tied for 25th. Kim Moore and Allison Temple both shot 95 on the day and are tied for 57th place.
Augustana's Sierra Langlie is the individual leader at 4-over par after shooting a 76. The Vikings have the top three golfers in the field after the first round.
Monday's final round will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
