MADISON, S.D. -- Bellevue University freshman Hannah Maschong has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week for her performances last week in the Bellevue Fall Invitational.
Maschong helped the Bruins to their second-straight tournament championship Monday and Tuesday at the Platteview Golf Club. She placed second in a field of 39 golfers after battling through difficult playing conditions at BU's home tournament.
After a first round 84, she settled into a groove carding a 1-over 73 and 2-over 74 in the second and third rounds, respectively, to lead Bellevue to the tournament championship. Maschong paced the field by shooting par on 40 of 54 holes.
The award is the first of Maschong's career.
Bellevue concludes the fall portion of their schedule Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 10-11 at the Creighton Classic to be played at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Neb.
