BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Four top 10 finishers helped the Bellevue University women's golf team maintain their six strokes of separation and record a victory over William Penn University in the Bellevue Fall Invitational, played at the Platteview Golf Club.

The Bruins wrapped up the 54-hole event with a team score of 953, six strokes ahead of second place William Penn. Iowa Western recorded the best team score of the day, with a score of 306, but it wasn't enough for better than a third place finish. Jamestown, South Dakota Mines & Technology, and Chadron State rounded out the field of competitors. Dodge City, who competed yesterday, did not compete today.

Bellevue's Wendy Monfort registered a tournament-best six birdies while Hannah Maschong paced the field with 40 holes at par.

Iowa Western's Cassidy Evreniadis won the individual title with a three-round total of 229. Maschong finished just two shots off the lead after firing a 2-over 74 in today's third round.

Monfort (78) finished in fourth with a score of 235 while Ivane Helias (240) picked up a seventh place finish.  The Bruins' fourth top 10 finisher was Faustina Peve (80) whose 247 earned her a tie for 10th place.

Morgan Hazzard rounded out the BU lineup with a three-round total of 281. Bri Stagge, golfing as an individual finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 299.

The victory was Bellevue's second in three fall events to date. Note, the NSAA Fall Conference Tournament was just the first two rounds of four and will be completed in the spring.

BU wraps up the fall portion of their schedule Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 17-18 at the Creighton Classic to be played at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha.
