ALBERT LEA, Minn. -- Faustina Peve shot a tournament-best 77 to expand her lead to four strokes following play in the second round of the 2016-17 North Star Athletic Association Tournament played at the Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.

The Bruins, as a team, shot a field-best 324 for the day to widen their lead over second place Viterbo. BU entered the day with a lead of nine strokes and saw that grow to 25 by days' end. Waldorf and Jamestown are in third and fourth place, respectively, ahead of Valley City State and Dickinson State with Presentation bringing up the rear.

Bellevue currently has four golfers in the top 10 led by Peve, four strokes ahead of the field.  Ivane Helias (80) is second while Wendy Monfort (80) is fifth, and Hannah Maschong (87) is tied for ninth overall.

Morgan Hazzard is just nine shots off a top 10 position after improving three strokes from yesterday.

The winner of the four-round tournament – which will resume in the spring – earns the North Star's lone automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships.

The Bruins return to action on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 3-4 when they host their annual Bellevue Fall Invite at the Platteview Golf Club.
