SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Thursday that 160 women's golf student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Bellevue University's Karissa Moreland was named to the prestigious team. She is a senior majoring in business administration.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Moreland, who is currently competing with the Bruins at the NAIA National Championships in Savannah, Ga., placed fourth at this year's North Star Athletic Association Championships, earning first team all-conference honors for the third-straight year.

This is the second-consecutive year Moreland has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
