POOLER, Ga. -- Rain and lightning forced suspension of the first round of play at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at the 6,010-yard, par-72 Savannah Quarters Country Club.
The Bruins did not begin play in Tuesday's first round. The 144-golfer field is scheduled to resume play tomorrow, May 18, at 8:30 a.m. Once the first round is completed, the players will continue straight into the second round of the tournament. The pairings and order will be the same as the first round.
Play was suspended three different times throughout the morning due to lightning and was ultimately called at 4:00 p.m.
Four groups started their opening round, while five pairings have yet to tee off. No team had finished their first round at the time play was called.
Live video and live scoring will be available throughout the championship.
