
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team leads by a commanding 86 strokes after the third round of competition at the North Star Athletic Association Championships being held at the Wildnerness Ridge Golf Club.
The tournament is a continuation of the NSAA Fall Qualifier, a 36-hole event, that took place on Sept. 28-29 in Oxbow, N.D.
Led by Natalia Soria, the Bruins shot a team score of 308 on Monday for a team total of 927. Viterbo is in second place with a 1,013 team total.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Soria shot a 3-over 74 on the day and was the top golfer in the field Monday. The Bruins had five of the top six scores in the third round.
Karissa Moreland fired a 6-over 77. Wendy Monfort recorded a 7-over 78. Maria Saavedra collected an 8-over 79 and Ivane Helias tallied an 81 on the day.
Monfort and Soria are currently tied for the individual lead after three rounds with 233 54-hole totals. Moreland is in third place at 235. Saavedra sits in sixth with a 243 total.
