SILVIS, Ill. -- Freshman Wendy Monfort fired a 4-over 76 on Tuesday to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to a second-place finish at the TPC Deere Run Invitational at the TPC Deere Run, home of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic.
The Bruins finished with a 640 (322-318) two-day team total, 17 strokes back from tournament champion Cumberlands University, who shot a 623 (314-309) team total.
Monfort placed in a tie for third place overall with a two-round total of 157 (81-76). Karissa Moreland finished in a tie for fifth with a 158 (80-78) total. Ivane Helias, who was participating as an individual, finished in a tie for seventh at 159 (80-79).
Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Riley was the tournament medalist, finishing at 1-under par for the tournament with a 143 (71-72) total.
