OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Bellevue University women's golf team saw three players shoot under par on the day to make up a nine-stroke deficit to finish in a tie for second place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City University.

The tournament was played on the West Course of the Lincoln Park Golf Course where par was set at 72.

Freshman Wendy Monfort tied for the second best score in the second round with a 2-under par 70 to finish with a score of 147, tied for fifth place. She was joined in fifth place by senior Maria Saavedra who shot a 71 on the afternoon.

Senior Renee Santoyo matched Saavedra's second round 71 to finish in a tie for seventh place overall with a two-round total of 148. Classmate Karissa Moreland carded a second round 76 to finish with a score of 149, tied for 14^th place overall. Fellow senior Natalia Soria improved nine strokes from her first round score to fire a 73 on the afternoon and finished in a tie for 24^th with a two-day score of 155.

Oklahoma City won the team title with a score of 585, three strokes ahead of co- runner's-up Bellevue and McLennan CC (588). Wayland Baptist (602) and Redlands CC (611) rounded out the top five.
