
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team placed first among non-Division I competitors at the Chip-N-Club Invitational at the Lincoln Country Club, hosted by the University of Nebraska.
Maria Saavedra was the top finisher for the Bruins, placing in a tie for 32nd place after a third round 76 brought her score to 233. Yupaporn Kawinpakorn was the top individual overall, finishing with a score of 212 (-4).
Renee Santoyo carded a team-best 75 in the third round to finish with a score of 234 and in a tie for 35th place. Wendy Monfort shot 83 to finish in a tie for 49th place with a score of 240.
Natalia Soria tied for 53rd after a third round 80 gave her a score of 242 while Karissa Moreland placed 56th with a three-round score of 244 after firing an 81.
Notre Dame won the team title with a score of three-round score of 860 (-4), finishing 30 strokes ahead of South Dakota State. The Bruins placed ninth with a three-round score of 946, a stroke behind North Dakota State and a stroke ahead of Illinois State.
Bellevue returns to play on Monday when they host the Bellevue Fall Invite at the Platteview Golf Club in Springfield, Neb.
