Bruins run away with fourth MCAC Championship

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team, paced by individual champion Renee Santoyo, claimed an 86-stroke victory at the 2015 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the Mozingo Lake Golf Club.

For the second straight season Santoyo was named MCAC Golfer of the Year after shooting a 1-over 73 today and recording a 2-day total of 150.

Maria Saavedra tied for second with a two-round score of 160 after shooting 79 today. Bellevue also took home the fourth, fifth, and sixth place finishes. Charlene Dubois fired 162, Natalia Soria shot 164, and Karissa Moreland carded out at 167 for the tournament.

With their victory in the MCAC Championship, Bellevue advances to the NAIA National Championship to be held in Savannah, Ga. from May 11-14.
