
VALLEY, Neb. -- Led by junior Charlene Dubois' 2-over par 74, the Bellevue University women's golf team claimed the tournament title at the six-team Bellevue University Spring Invitational being played at the Pines Country Club.
Bellevue finished with a team total of 616 (307-309), edging second place William Penn University by one stroke. The Bruins had four players finish in the top 10 in the field of 39 golfers.
Dubois finished fourth overall with a 36-hole total of 5-over par 149 (75-74).
Iowa Western Community College's Maisy Turney was the tournament medalist after firing a two-round total of 5-under par, 139.
Renee Santoyo finished in sixth place with a 151 (73-78) total. Maria Saavedra tied for eighth after shooting the Bruins' second-best round on the day of 76 for a 36-hole total of 158. Karissa Moreland placed 10th with a 160 (79-81) total. Rounding out the Bruins' scoring was Natalia Soria with a 161 (80-81) total.
It marked the Bruins' second-straight and third overall tournament title of the 2014-15 season.
The Bruins will travel to Maryville, Mo. to participate in the MCAC Championships on April 27-28 at the Mozingo Golf Club.
