OMAHA, Neb. - Junior Renee Santoyo (Guadalupe, Mexico) shot a team-best 78 and the Bellevue University women's golf team is tied for third after one round at the Creighton Classic this afternoon, held at the Oak Hills Country Club.

Santoyo's 78 has her in a tie for fourth place at 6-over on the 5,972 yard, par 72 course. Junior Charlene Dubois (Salbris, France) was second among Bruins with a first round score of 81 and is tied for 11th overall in the field of 42.

Junior Natalia Soria (La Paz, Bolivia) was third among Bellevue competitors with a first round score of 83 while classmates Karissa Moreland (North Platte, Neb.) and  Maria Saavedra (Mexico City, Mexico) shot 85 and 86, respectively.

Junior Izzy Hernandez (Richmond, B.C.) rounded out the Bellevue competitors with a score of 88 on the day.

The Bruins team score of 327 is currently tied with UNO, 15 strokes behind tournament leader South Dakota (312) while Creighton is second with a score of 321.

The Bruins will wrap up play at the Creighton Classic tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
