LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team moved up a spot and is in sixth place after the second round of the NAIA Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club.
Savannah College of Art and Design leads the 27-team field by three strokes with a two-day total of 608. Bellevue recorded a team score of 314 for the second-straight day.
Daniela Martinez of Northwood (Texas) University is the individual tournament leader with a two-over-par total of 146.
Renee Santoyo is in ninth place overall and registered a second round score of 76 for a two-day total of 151 (75-76).
After firing an opening round score of 82, Charlene Dubois bounced back with two birdies and an eagle for a 75 and is tied for 30th.
Maria Saavedra tallied a 78 and is in a tie for 39th place with a total score of 159 (81-78).
Karissa Moreland finished the day with an 85 while Natalia Soria rounded out the Bruins' scoring with an 87.
The Bruins will continue tournament action tomorrow.
The 20th annual event is a four-day tournament with the final round scheduled for Friday, May 23. The top 17 teams and 40 individuals make the final cut for Friday's fourth round.
